Workplace stress is a real and costly problem for American business.  Stress blocks both individuals and the organization from achieving goals of growth and productivity. It increases costs due to stress-related turnover, absenteeism, accidents, healthcare costs, and lost productivity. It is important to recognize that there is an increased cost of doing nothing to address and mitigate the impact of workplace stress.

Stress impacts employees’ professional and personal lives and companies’ bottom lines.  Relief is available. Our response to stress can be changed – without major upset.

I focus upon solutions.  I teach people how to recognize stress and take action to manage and overcome it. Once free of the stifling impact of stress, we are free to channel our energies into productive avenues, reaching toward our highest potentials.

Combining my business background with my stress management experience, I created an integrative, holistic approach that employs effective, clinically-proven techniques to not only manage stress, but change the stress responses of our bodies and minds. These techniques are a cost-effective way to improve concentration and focus, stimulate creativity, improve interpersonal relationships, and promote a greater sense of overall well-being.

An integral part of my approach is meditation, which has been proven to change the way our minds and bodies respond to stress with a regular practice of minutes a day. Believe it or not, the goals of meditation and business are in sync – enhancing personal and professional growth and productivity. Meditation provides benefits that are of particular value in the workplace. It improves employee health and wellness, can reduce turnover, costs, and supports employees in improved job performance and satisfaction.

It is a misconception that meditation in the workplace will result in laziness or inaction. To the contrary, meditation in the workplace goes well beyond relaxation and de-stressing. I’ve worked with sales teams who meditated together before responding to RFPs.  Salespeople meditated before meetings with prospective clients, and reported that they were more relaxed and confident.  Other members of the team reported being less anxious about their work and approaching it with a “can do!” spirit.  Teams as a whole became more cohesive and supportive of each other and the company.  It can work for you, too.

Meditation is a powerful strategy that has also been proven to improve time-management skills, attention spans and memory.  It enhances problem-solving abilities, team-building, and communication skills, in addition to providing a wide range of other physical, mental, and emotional benefits.
